Today we celebrated Parker's birthday. He had a few friends over for a party. I just wasn't up to doing a whole themed party with games and entertainment, so I gave them nerf dart guns, and our Cranium Build-a-Fort. I told them to build themselves a shelter and defend it from each other. They had fun as far as I can tell. Add chocolate cake, ice cream, hot dogs, and presents, and there's one birthday party checked off the list.
We had some friends and family over directly afterwards for a Celebratory Barbeque to Welcome Brent Home. I made a second cake, this one a yellow ribbon. (At least it would have been yellow, had I been able to locate my yellow food coloring. As it turns out, it was a white ribbon outlined with yellow cookie icing.) It was a good, but tiring day.
