The 3 oldest kids got to spend 6 days at the Triangle Y camp in Oracle, AZ for Operation Purple. Military children with a deployed parent, or a parent who has deployed during the last year, are invited to attend.

Parker got to ride a horse. A bad case of hives and some swelling revealed that Parker is allergic to horses. There was a 30 ft rock tower that he was able to climb to the top of twice. There was also a zip line that could be reached by climbing to the top of a 40 ft tower. Parker had a lot of fun on that. Parker's cabin's cheer was "What Sound Devil Dog? Ha-Ruff Ha-Ruff!" His counselors were Bryce and Glen. There was a kid in his cabin named Mack. The other kids made fun of him, and called him Macaroni and Cheese. Parker stood up for and befriended him, and by so doing became the target of one of the bullies. He didn't have a great camp experience after that.

London got to ride a horse named Buck. The kids all learned the "mosquito" song and the "bazooka bubble gum" song. London taught them to us on the way home, and she and Braden giggled and sang throughout the whole drive. London's cabin's cheer was, "Clap Your Hands, Stomp Your Feet, Listen To Our Beat! Go Cabin C!" The kids liked all of the food except for the sweet potatoes, and the "camp beans." London's pals were Gabriella and Shaina. Her counselors were Chloe, Tracey, and Hyosean. There was one girl who was a bully, and said bad words, but the rest of the girls were friendly.

Preston got to ride a horse named Mr. H. He thought it was funny that the horse in front of him had to stop for a potty break. Preston didn't make it to the top of the rock tower. He said that he "would have been able to, but my muscles were sore." Preston's cabin's cheer was "Yabba Dabba Doo, Cabin D Rocks You!" All three kids did swimming, archery, and arts and crafts, including leather working. They played WiiFit. There was a dance, and a t-shirt signing day. Preston says he was buddies with all of the boys in his cabin: Fox, Elijah, Anthony, Chris, Montgomery, and Tanner. His counselors were George and Gabriel. One meal was Chinese food. Preston's fortune cookie said, "An attractive person has a message for you." He tore it up, because he says he wants nothing to do with girls.
