Carving Pumpkins

After the festival, we went to my parents' house for a neighborhood barbeque. Only one family that lived there when I was a kid still does. When that was over, we carved the pumpkins from the festival. That meant that I did all of the cleaning and scooping of nasty gunk, while the kids played.

Once the kids decided on the design, we began carving. Brooklyn needed me to help guide the blade, but the other kids did fine on their own.

London was upset that the design that she came up with for the mouth didn't get chosen, and took off crying. But she finally decided to rejoin us anyway.

Last year we missed pumpkin carving, so the kids really enjoyed themselves.
Parker was glad that he actually got to carve by himself.
