Symphony For The Schools

Today we took a field trip to Phoenix Symphony Hall for the student matinee of their Winter Wonderland concert. I really love student matinees. Not only are they cheaper, but they are usually shorter, catering to a child's attention span, and because they are full of kids, no one notices if mine are restless, or whispering questions to me the whole time. The concert was great, and the kids really liked it. Braden has this cute obsession with tubas. He gets so disappointed if he can't see it, and so excited whenever he spots one. Towards the end of the concert, I had to take Brooklyn to the potty, so I missed the selection from the Nutcracker. They play the concert over speakers throughout Symphony Hall, including in the restroom, but bathroom acoustics just aren't the same. I took Braden with us, figuring he'd freak out if I left, and it was a good thing, as his diaper chose to leak on the way there. He must have been really saving up. Naturally, I didn't have any spares with me, and for some reason fancy places like the symphony don't keep extras on hand, so I wrapped him up in paper towels, told him not to go again, pulled his pants up, and went back in for the final song. At least my car is always stocked with diapers and wipes. I had to carry him from then on, because he's so buttless that he relies on his diaper to hold up his pants. What will we do when he's potty trained?

I didn't know about the student matinees! Sounds cool.

I've learned that those huge industrial maxi pads in the vending machines can fill in for a diaper when you're desperate. :) Better than nothing, anyway.

Glad you guys are over "the bug"!
