Braden is all about defining things. In church on Sunday he said with a huge crinkle-faced wink,
"When I wink at you, that means 'I love you.'"
(We taught our kids that a wink is our secret code for saying "I love you" without speaking out loud. We wink at them for reassurance whenever they are on stage. We also do the "squeeze" and sign language, but that's another story...)
Braden is so small and lightweight, that he still gets picked up a lot. In the grocery store today, he said,
"Mom, I need to hug you."
So I picked him up, and as we gave each other a squeeze, he said,
"When I hug you, that means 'I love you.' I love you, Mom."
"I love you too, Braden," I replied with a catch in my voice. "I'm so glad that you came to be in our family."
