Grocery Shopping

I am usually both easygoing and respectful of my elders. I happen to live in a town with a lot of retirees, so even if I go shopping during the workday while the kids are at school, the grocery store is packed. You just have to budget an extra 15 minutes for navigating around shopping carts, an extra 3 minutes for the lady in line in front of you to dig through her purse in order to pay with exact change, and an extra 2 minutes to reach items for someone sitting in a motorized cart. That's just the way it is, but apparently not everyone got the memo. Yesterday, Braden, Eden, and I were on our shopping adventure, when Eden started fussing. She doesn't like to be cooped up in the cart for long, and most people don't enjoy hearing a baby cry in the store, so I pulled the cart over to the right to unbuckle her and pick her up. It took all of 20 seconds before we started moving again, but the middle-aged woman in a business suit behind me must have been in an awful hurry, because she sighed, roughly maneuvered around me, and stormed off, saying, "Any day now!" to which I calmly replied, "Patience is a virtue." She didn't appear to enjoy my comment, but didn't stop to continue the discussion either. After all, she was in a dreadful hurry.
