Last night we had a huge storm with over 70 miles per hour wind. I didn't sleep well, not only because it was noisy, but also because I kept thinking about how the last windy storm broke a huge branch off of the tree in our front yard. I just chopped up said tree branch, and filled our garbage can with it, yesterday. I also worried about the chickens in the backyard, and the shingles on our roof. It turns out that my worries were justified. There were reports of downed power lines, construction sites destroyed, a backyard trampoline blowing down the street and then into a tree, the Wendy's sign blown over, and a shopping-cart return blowing through a store parking lot. While our rash cans were tipped, and garbage and tree branches scattered through our yard, we only suffered one minor casualty. One of our reindeer Christmas decorations looks like the victim of a drive-by. All four legs were dislocated, and it was decapitated. What a horrible way to go. I don't know how the other one remained standing.
