Colleen and Ben are down for a visit, so we decided to take the kids to Colossal Cave near Tucson.
I had been told that Colossal Cave is much more kid-friendly than Karchner Caverns, and it really was.
The inside of the cave was pretty neat. The kids were great, but I was glad to have two extra pairs of adult hands for the little ones to hold onto while going down the carved-out stairs in the cave. The kids really enjoyed the tour, and kept their eyes peeled for the lost treasure.
Outside, there is a fun scavenger hunt for the kids to do. Each item on their list has a teal box with a different hole punch for them to use to check off each item when they find it. After finding everything, the kids got a prize from the gift shop. It was a fun and educational field trip.
