Picking Blueberries

We went to Bernice's Blueberry Patch in Thomson, GA on the last open picking day of the season.

Blueberries were only $1 per pound, so I told the kids to get as many as they could.

London spent a lot of time showing Camden how to pick ripe ones. By the end he would say, "Ew, Gross." when he saw a red one, but would pick the dark blue ones.

We only had an hour to pick before they closed, so we only ended up with about 8 pounds. I wish we could have gotten more.

London and Preston picked to the end. Brooklyn, Braden, and Eden exclaimed that this was the best field trip ever in the beginning, but then left to sit in the shade after about 20 minutes.

After arriving home, I made deeelicious blueberry jam with about 2/3 of the berries. The rest are for snacking, or pancakes. Maybe muffins. Mmm.
