Broken Toe

WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS PICTURES OF FEET.
(I know some of you have an aversion to feet in general, so feel free to bypass this post.)
Ignore my sandal-tan, please.
This morning I was scheduled to host playgroup at my house. This requires actually folding and putting away the laundry that I washed yesterday, so that guests have a place to sit on my otherwise laundry-covered couch. The deadline was fast approaching when they'd be arriving, so I was scurrying back and forth from the couch to various bedrooms putting away the clothes. Our couch has a U shape, and I managed to snag my right pinky toe on one of the corners, neatly breaking it near the base. So I pulled it straight, and put away the rest of the laundry, walking on my heel, and we had playgroup. Since taking this photo, my foot has swolen and purpled even more. Eww.

Brent comes home for lunch most days, and was able to just take the rest of the day off and watch the kids while I went to the doctor's office. He X-rayed, confirmed the break, taped my toes together, and gave me a plastic "wooden shoe" to wear. It's too big, and slides off my heel, so I probably won't wear it. Argh.
